2024 Summer GOAL - Opportunities Through Art and Leadership - Ages 11 to 13

This intensive summer art program will include an outreach with emphasis on creating artwork that will benefit our community, which will include hand-built ceramic pots, containing gardens of food for others and print-making, used in up-cycling clothing, We will also experience drawing, ink drawing, and oil painting.
This is a great program to help young artists find their confidence, learn valuable life skills all the while having fun and making new friends for years to come. Lessons on leadership from many of our community members are always included with our program.  Artists teach in their areas of expertise and mentor the students through sharing their work and lives as artists.This program offers young people, ages 11 to 13, regardless of expression or identity, the opportunity to experience art, leadership and art based opportunities. Create A Chess Set - Middle/High School

2024 Summer BART - "Caring For our Community through Creativity" - Ages 11 to 17

During this program we will be exploring our community in Durango and how we can give back as creatives. During this week, students will be learning a plethora of art skills from a variety of different guest artist instructors. We will take some of those skills to paint a Mural to help beautify our community. Students will also take these skills and will focus on finding the value in another man's trash as we travel down the river trail finding materials to turn into found object sculptures. During this trip, we will explore the local art and learn how it helps make a difference in our society.

During each day, the students will also have the option of taking a creative break to learn circus skills so they can exercise both their body and minds.

This is a great program to help young artists find their confidence, learn valuable life skills all the while having fun and making new friends for years to come.

Art Around the World - Kids 4 to 6

Mask Making! Ages 8 to 11

Art About Me offers a variety of delightful projects for our Mini-Masters!! Students will learn Picasso Portraits with oil pastels, sculpting pets and favorite animals out of air-dry and sculpy clay, creating their favorite place using collage, and much more!

The Summer Clay Club for Teens

The DAC Clay Club offers a vareity of open-studio ceramic projects including a weekly clay challenge! Learn the entire clay process of reclaiming, building, glazing and firing. Come join Mr B for 2 weeks (with a week in between for drying and firing) of clay and creativity!  Class Dates - Monday thru Thursday, July 15 - 18 and July 29 - August 1
